2nd proposal is
Should we make the top 100 (MLB/MILB) players go on a separate trading block thread for 24 hours before they can be traded?
There will be a separate trade thread devoted to posting when you are looking for or about to trade a player ranked in the top 100 ADP on Fantrax (MLB) and top 100 (MiLB- not sure what source but MLBs might be easiest). These players will be listed by us, so you will know if your player will fall into this category.
If the player has been in the thread for 24 hours or more you can trade them at your leisure. If they have not, you have to wait for the 24 hours at least.
This rule is to cause discussion and potentially bidding wars helping teams who are trading top players. It will limit the chipyness following trades of top players, because everyone will have known they are available and it will cause more traffic and eyes on the site, so people hopefully talk more
Trade deadline and draft this will be waived as well

Voted yes on this and no to other. Trade block and mandatory trade analysis is sufficient enough and no need to overkill it

I guess I kind of agree with the trade deadline, but the draft would be hard to implement due to the hectic nature and constant moving parts

I am not totally hating this rule, but I am the one voting no. This hinders an already difficult trading process in this league.
Sometimes trade negotiations involve multiple prospects. So maybe I have Prospect A, I have to put him on the vine, but we are negotiating and decide on prospect B? So then I have to put that player on the 24 hour waiting period. Oh my, while we are negotiating the deal, something comes up and the other team adds his own prospect J, so now that guy goes on the trade vine. To me, this idea is great in theory, but in practice I think it's a mess in a league where making deals with 15 or more teams is ALREADY a challenge.
It also exposes negotiations for your competitors. You could figure out who is negotiating what and for whom. With this rule, it exposes trade talks I may not want others to know about. If I all of a sudden put Dylan Cease on the "trade vine", it could let people know that "some team" is probably offering me a good piece. Maybe THAT team's competitor gets involved to mess deals up.

I think that just adds to the strategy Pitt. Also, nothing prevents you from putting all your players in there immediately then just making a trade at a later time...or wait until the deal is done and put the player(s) on there. It's also just only the top 100 MLB/MilB. So most trades wont be impacted and it will force people to be active on the board to make trades. It's kind of like a 24 hour hold on trades...maybe someone takes over your deal or not. I'd wager if the deal is agreed on in principle...very few trades are going to be stolen....because you wont have to reveal the whole deal. Just post the players in the top 100

another no vote here, but that's cool if it goes through. i voted no because this rule would protect people from making bad trades and i want them to make bad trades with me. <--- maybe that's enough reason for other people to vote yes?
