Observation: Interesting trade analysis on the last trade of Robert/Kuhl for Lanarch/Guzman/4th.
Robert is a prospect who saw the biggest rise in the minors this year. Ranked 18th by MLB in the most recent update, and is trending upward. Could see top 10 ranking by mid season. Lanarch however is not ranked by MLB in the most recent update.

MLB ranks prospects for MLB teams not fantasy...but great analysis lmao. Larnach is 23 by Prospects live fantasy list and Robert is 51...I trust them over MLB for fantasy lmao

I think the trade was fine. Similar prospects and similar second pieces. Its a challenge trade. Kind of like Pineda for Montero was in the day.

Would be interesting to see their new rankings. Larnarch definitely does not have tools or ceiling close to Robert and has been quite so far. Robert basically ranked 51st on their list without showing anything in the minors, this year is a difference maker.
The other Sox fans of this forum would have more knowledge on how Robert stacks up against Larnarch. Also worth noting is no other publication has Larnarch in their top 100 (likely not going to either in the upcoming mid season ranking). PL may be useful in some cases, but may not be the best source to trump other more well known sites when there is such a huge discrepancy.

Again...fantasy vs real life. That's why Bart started like 20 on MLB. Catcher who is compentent with the bat trumps all in real baseball (MLB rankings)

Some of the more well know site (PL is at fairly new btw) ESPN’s dynasty rankings and fantasypro also disagree with this, fantasy-wise speaking. Robert was ranked 210-220s for both in terms of dynasty rankings, you could imagine that ranking has gone up 50-75 spots since start of season. Lanarch wasn’t ranked in either list, and we’re just using FP to discuss Lynch’s value yesterday. When the ranking that’s divided between one source (a fairly new one) vs all other sources then I wouldn’t think you’d want to make decisions solely based on that source. If anything, owners subscribed to other sources would be willing to pay more for Robert.

The trade wasnt Larnach for Robert...so thanks for playing the spin game and losing

Only a master spinner could spin losing an argument as winning an argument. Would love to hear the argument behind Guzman (a 1B) having more value than Kuhl (an SP) that it even makes up for the considerable difference between Robert and Larnach. Watch and learn from the true spin master folks.

According to fantasy pros dynasty... Kuhls best dynasty ranking was 261...Guzman's best was 165. Not taking into account Kuhl is out this year and might not be himself next year which when good is a low K and crap ERA pitcher the NL lmao. Kuhl is older with very little potential left. Guzman is 24 with the potential of a better hitting less power Gallo. No spin needed. Also, I didnt make the offer that was accepted...NYM did. He wanted Larnach

Good try, but that’s not the latest overall dynasty ranking that Robert is the highest ranked in by far.

Guzman/Larnach/4th > Robert and Kuhl. Objectively and unbiased. That's why no one is bashing it

Guzman/Larnach/4th > Robert and Kuhl. Objectively and unbiased. That's why no one is bashing it I am sure this statement would age very well, as in about 2 months time. I think I could predict some backtracking and saying it was the case because the old PL rankings said so, as if one could not predict already what the new rankings would look like. I will just end by saying this is a light package for a top 10 fantasy prospect in the game.

I included Larnach in the deal because from what I've read on him, he seems like a solid prospect. Robert is pretty good as well. I included Larnach here to offset the loss of Robert.

So here is the update:
Tampa Bay has ghosted since accepting this trade, after a week or so Miami finally got in contact with him and all he said was multiple teams messaged him that it was a horrible trade...nothing else
I have tried to contact him wanting to still work out a deal and wanting him to send me an offer of any kind, yet he has still not responded.
The intent of these rules "to accept a trade" was so we make sure both parties are aware and happy with what they are accepting. Not so other teams can bitch and then the trade not going through. Maybe this wasnt the intent of what has happened, but if it becomes apparent that is what is happening, the rules will be changed immediately.
As to this current deal. It will remain in limbo until Tampa resurfaces or I decide to cut the deal for good
___
While I think a better deal could be had for Khris Davis, this presents a fundamental problem. You posted a deal, and for whatever reason, real life gets involved with people and we don't log in for 24 hours to accept the trade. When an owner logs into the site, they get a ton of feedback saying that its a bad deal, a better offer could be had (or an offer in the PM), etc.
I'm not sure if this has happened before, but if it has, maybe we need to go to both parties PMing the commissioner as accepting, and the trade gets posted once both parties accept it. We need to watch out that teams aren't decimated by dumb trades for the future of the league, but for an owner who has been here for a while, we don't need to babysit them. Or....maybe there is some punishment for welching on a deal. Maybe Khris Davis gets a one year NTC? Maybe the owner gets a one month trade/waiver restriction.
