How long do we let Braves hold up the draft because they didn’t want to look at the picks just before him to see Weaver taken? Pace looks decent and then we have a huge speed bump. Didn’t we message our numbers and contact info to expedite this thing? Text has been sent

One week in and we’re averaging ~1h24m per pick so far. That puts our estimated draft completion date at around April 16th which is 18 days past Opening Day (March 29th).

What about Seattle? Good park to pitch in, not sure if they're in the market but I always thought that would be a good match. As someone who closely follows the Mariners’ organization I can say that there is roughly a 0% chance of Seattle signing Arrieta.

We should find a time on a weekend where we can bang it a few rounds. With big boards and cell numbers this is very doable.

The way I have been thinking about it is that we are averaging 16 picks per day which would put us completing on March 28. I agree with the point though, the inactive people who are pushing the average pick time up need to commit or be replaced.

We need to average one pick every ~59 minutes for the remaining 1,084 picks in order to wrap up in time for Opening Day.

We’re averaging 16.57 picks per day which means we’d need ~65 more days to make the remaining 1,084 picks at the current pace (not to mention the MiLB draft). 65 days from now is roughly April 17th/18th.

Where are you getting that many picks? There are only 750 total picks in MLB and that's what I did my calculation on. (30*25=750)

I think so much Time is been spent on trading early on and less time on the actual picks.
I also think that in the next few rounds is going to go a lot faster
That being said, I am still OK with setting aside some time next weekend to bust out quite a few rounds all at once.
BTW, I think I am averaging 10mins or less per pick...

I guess it’s not imperative that we wrap that up by Opening Day, though.

There is also the factor that some picks in the late rounds will be skipped for teams who have already reached 40 or 15 players. I know at this point I won't be able to draft my 25th rounder due to pick inventory.

This is why especially for a first year league I felt all teams should have same number of picks. Trades should have had to have equal picks. Makes ending draft and FA a bit wonky.

Longoria always feels risky for me too. 3B feels thin as a position.
Arenado to me is the best, followed by Bryant, then here is a fairly large gap in production
