This is where the draft will take place. Only post your draft picks here. There will be a separate thread for all of the discussion about picks, players, etc.
Players that are eligible for the major league draft is any player that has played in at least one game for a major league team (exceptions for this year's draft will be Ohtani and Makita).This includes minor league players and prospects that have a ready made their debut. They will need to be drafted in the major league draft and if they start the year in the minors you can then move them to your minors.
The draft will snake after the first round. Draft order is
1. PIT
2. MIN
3. CWS
4. NYY
5. DET
6. LAA
7. HOU
8. TEX
9. ATL
10. STL
11. KC
12. LAD
13. OAK
14. COL
15. SD
16. BAL
17. PHI
18. CHC
19. ARI
20. MIA

OHTANI and MAKITA are the only exceptions to the rules and can only be drafted in the major league draft.

All players who have played at least 1 MLB game are only eligible for the MLB draft. If a player has not played a MLB game they will have to be selected in the Minor League Draft. Only exceptions are Ohtani and Makita.

Official major league draft start time: 10:00 am Monday February 5, 2018
Pittsburgh's clock will start Monday at 10, but he can make his selection anytime starting now. To make your picks post in the Major League Draft thread. Please only post your draft picks in that thread. To make any comments, post in the draft comment thread.
Each team will have a 12 hour clock to make their picks. Please do not take the entire time if you don't have to. We have 40 rounds and 1200 picks to get through before the start of the season (combined between the major league and minor league/prospect draft). Everyone has a trade window built into their draft window. This window will start at 6 hours. You can trade your pick in that window or before your draft window starts, afterwards you cannot trade the pick and must make a selection.
If we feel the draft is moving too slowly or we are getting close towards the beginning of the season we may switch to 6 or 3 hour draft windows with trade windows half of that.
Please everyone stay active and following the draft. Do your research ahead of your pick, so you are prepared to either make your pick or trade your pick when you get on the clock.
Player eligibility for the major league draft is as follows:
Any player who has made their major league debut and played at least one game in the majors is only eligible to be drafted in the major league draft.
Players that have played 0 games in the majors are only eligible to be drafted I'm the minor league draft.
Minor league players must be signed with a MLB team
***Note***
Ohtani and Makita are only ELIGIBLE for the Major league draft not the minor league draft.
The Google doc will be updated as much as possible with the draft results, team draft picks, and team rosters. I will also try and input the draft results as the draft progresses so hopefully the player pool on Fantrax will be accurate as can be.
Lastly, if you make a trade, please announce it as soon as possible in the trade section and have the other team post their confirmation as well.

OK I got it. I won't use the entire hour for my pick. I am gonna hang off as Im getting some offers for this pick. A couple are close, but skiddish about it. Just to make it clear. 12 hour draft windows 6 hours of that you can trade your pick Just try not to use all your time if you don't have to. I'd like to come close to a round a day if possible. |
