We've been drafting for 4 weeks now, have just pushed past the half way mark in both MLB and MILB drafts. With 4 weeks till start of season and picks taking more and more time due to barren draft pool, some owners losing interest, or the weather is finally getting better, we have a real chance of not finishing the draft by season starts. Even if we can barely squeak by, I think most owners would rather get the draft over so we can move on and start managing the roster.
Please take a vote in the poll and collectively plan for how to push through the remainder of the draft in a less painful manner. I am hoping we can implement the popular decision as soon as the next round starts for both drafts. Or if you are one of the few that would like things remain the same, let's discuss in this thread as well.
Commissioners, if you need some help trying to manage and monitor the progress of the draft due to increased pace, please reach out. I am sure a number of active owners who hangs out in the shout box throughout the day would be happy to help things move along than spending time idly waiting.

We are past the point where a change needs to be made. Everyone who is updating is doing a great job, the admins are doing yoman's work and it is all much appreciated. But the window needs to shrink now.

I appreciate jobs, shooting a movie, on a flight, etc...but it doesn't mean the entire draft should be shut down as a result. Submit a short list or A) be skipped, or B) get the highest rated player available added to your roster.

And by shortening the window, and guys knowing they have a really chance of getting skipped, I think it would also encourage them to send the picks in to the admin in advance, rather than that courtesy being largely ignored right now.

Yep.. I mean, as an owner if you haven't provided a cell # for texts by now, you obviously don't give a shit about the other owners.

No matter what, there needs to be a grace period overnight.

Yes, I was even able to get two picks in while I was at a funeral out-of-state. It only takes minor effort

Gentleman I agree with everything that has been said here, as well as in the shoutbox. The window needs to shortened and the grace period needs to remain in place. Unfortunately not all of the owners have supplied their contact info which makes it hard to reach people when they are OTC or even on deck, in an effort to keep things moving along. I also agree that the long windows and periods of inactivity have caused some owners to lose interest. Even if people jump on and communicate their situation to the rest of the league it would be greatly appreciated.
