Still willing to part with SP (I'll go w/ any SP I have other than Snell) + at least 1, maybe 2 other pieces for an improvement over the position player. IOW, I give up a top rotation type pitcher and position player. The position player I get back is clearly better than the one I give you.
I'll give an example of what such a deal could look like
Eduardo Rodriquez + Ryan McMahon (I am not shopping McMahon specifically, it could literally be any player other than Olson, Albies, AV) + other piece (depth option if desired) for 3B/2B (the position McMahon qualifies for). The 3B should clearly be better than Mac, who hit in the .250s last year with 25 homers and is 24.
For something like Rodriquez + Kingery the player returning would have to be an absolute stud, no brainer. I doubt anyone would offer me what it would take to get both these guys, but who knows there are players out there I would do it for.
