Boston gets 4 of top 40 MILB pics, and 9 picks within the first 4 rounds in MILB. Interesting. Hell, and I think his first pick is 2/5, one spot after my pick at 2/4. What a mover and shaker....love it

What a mover and shaker....love it Four in the Top 40 is the important part. You might as well be picking minor leaguers randomly from the collected Top 30 organizational lists after the first few rounds of the MiLB draft. I'd be surprised if all 30 of us combined could name 450 minor league players. Heck, I'd be surprised if any of us could name 2/3rds of the guys from the Top 30 list of our favorite team. My list has ~140 names (basically a combo of the BA Top 100 and the Fangraphs Top 100) and the guys at the bottom of that list come with descriptors such as "future role player," "impact bench player," and "could be a solid 5th starter." Now that I think of it, I'll gladly trade away most of my MiLB picks (or trade back to Round 15 so that I don't have to go diving into the waiver wire) to move up in the MLB draft.

Yep good point. I was able to dig up a list with about 230 or so players, most of which I have no idea who they are. Boston switched out some major league players and went without a 1...and that's a tough play. That all said, his 9 players could also turn out to be dogs, because prospects for the most part are a total crap shoot. But at least he has more rungs at the bell and potential trade options if a few pan out.

What a mover and shaker....love it You got me excited for a bit , but I only have 3 in Top 40 and 6 in Top 100. I didn't like the spot I was picking in MLB or MILB first round, ideally I would want to pick around 20 for MLB or top 3 in MILB, so I decided to move down all together. I am pretty happy about my position in both the MLB and MILB phase now.

I'd be happy with picks in each of the first four MiLB rounds then a bunch of R12-15 picks.
